كان هناك عائلة مكونة من أب وأم مع ابنهما الصغير يبيتون بالغابة

وكان الفتى الصغير ماوكلي نائما في سريره الصغير

عندما ذهب الأب والأم لإحضار بعض الأخشاب من الغابة

جاء ضبع وهو من أتباع النمر الشرير شيرخان وخطف الطفل

حاول الأب إنقاذه ولكن دون جدوى فقد أسرع الضبع بالفرار والهروب من بين يديه

ولكن بمساعدة النمر الأسود والذي أوقف الضبع وأخذ الفتى ماوكلي منه نجى ماوكلي من الموت.

وهنا تبدأ مغامرات الصبي ماوكلي حيث بدأ هذا النمر الأسود وصديقه الدب الطيبان بإطعام ماوكلي وتربيته

بمساعدة الذئاب أيضا فقد أخذت عائلة من الذئاب ماوكلي لتربيته بين إخوته الذئاب الصغار.

يكبر الفتى ماوكلي ويصبح غلاما واعيا لما حوله

ولكثرة ارتباطه بالذئاب والمدة الطويلة التي عاش معهم أصبح يستطيع التكلم معهم

أي أنه يفهم لغتهم (لغة الحيوانات وليس الذئاب فقط).

ولكن في يوم احترقت الغابة التي يعيش بها الذئاب وماوكلي وهرب الجميع

إلى ناحية النهر فتصدى لهم النمر الشرير شيرخان وأعوانة

وكان يريد اخذ الفتى ماوكلي لأنه يكره البشر

فجاء أبو ماوكلي (وهو ذئب) ووقف أمام شيرخان يريد محاربته

وللأسف استطاع شيرخان هزم الأب وقتله ولم يستطع ماوكلي فعل شيء مع إخوته الذئاب.

ومن هنا تبدأ كراهية ماوكلي لشيرخان والتفكير با الانتقام منه.

وفي كل حلقة من الأنيمي تحدث مغامرات مع الفتى الشجاع ماوكلي والذي هو أشبه بالذئب.

وفي النهاية يستطيع ماوكلي التغلب على شيرخان بمساعدة أخويه الذئبين والقضاء عليه

ويعود ماوكلي إلى العيش مع البشر في إحدى القرى
