Simply download the application, install it, run and select which locations you are concerned about. Updates cover many different events including tornadoes, wild fires, tropical storms, and tsunamis. The software was released to the public in 2005, previously only being available to relevant authorities. Since this time, the software continues to see updates where needed. Alert notifications come in from a variety of reliable sources like the U.S. Geological Survey, the Smithsonian and the National Weather Services.
